The English / Afrikaans app is the first app to be built on the WordPro platform. Built for the South African market, it contains 5,000+ words in 110 categories and is divided into 4 levels of increasing complexity. The demo version is already available in the Google Play and Apple stores, with the full version launching soon.
We are just finishing up the content testing to make sure we have the correct spelling (including special characters such as ê, ë, î, etc.) and the correct audio pronunciation for each word before we release this to the public.
Use these links to quickly find the app in the Google Play or Apple Stores. Install the demo version now and you will automatically get notified when the full version is available.
According to the South African Education Department, isiZulu is the most widely-spoken language in the South African high school population. Hence, it makes sense that we should be working on English / isiZulu flashcards.
We are busy curating the content and should reach about 3,000 words. The isiZulu flashcard mobile app will enjoy the same app features as Afrikaans (see above) including audio clips, parts of speech, emojis, and badges.
Speaking of audio: we will soon be needing a voice artist to record the English / isiZulu words. Do you think you have the right voice? Then drop us an email so that we can have a chat.
We are also working on the English / isiXhosa flashcards. Once this app is complete we would have covered the top five languages spoken in South Africa. That is going to be a pretty cool achievement!
Curating the isiXhosa content is underway and should also reach about 3,000 words. The isiXhosa flashcard mobile app will follow the features and format of the Afrikaans and isiZulu apps.
Of course, we will also be needing a voice artist to record the English / isiXhosa words. Do you think you have the right voice? Then drop us an email so that we can have a chat.
